New cover art!

I thought that just for an experiment I would create new cover art for volumes two - four in my book series using photos of the actors I wish to one day play the roles in the motion picture. There is no movie contract yet but it never hurts to fool around at least with cover art.
For now I have only updated them on Smashwords.com. Maybe tomorrow I will move on to kindle.
To help clarify things
I will also attach the IMDb list of the actors and their roles

Female characters...

Why Strong Female Characters Are Bad for Women | Overthinking It

well i was reading that article and while it did have some valid points most of it i think should get the author a sharp bitch-slap to the face!  What I agreed with is that it does indeed portray women as sexual perfect objects but the thing is whats wrong with looking sexy? Many women I know who chose to dress in those kind of things get all kinds of crap because they chose to look nice or sexy as u put it. However, just because they look good doesnt make them any less secure. For example my sister is truly one of the most beautiful women in the world and yet she still thinks she needs to watch her weight. Yes its hard having beautiful women around but the thing is do u honestly believe it truly makes their lives easier? an author I know is named L.A. Sherman and she has been through more shit than I ever have. So what if she wears a mini skirt and makes Tyra Banks look like a feeble old woman? For all the crud she has been through, being sold as a child bride, tortured by her evil mother-in-law, arriving in America with nothing but the clothes on her back and her young son I think she is entitled to do whatever the hell she wants. In the end it is all about choices. Life is full of bad and good things. Yes we can change things but it takes time and bitching and moaning and criticizing others do not solve a damn thing.
In my opinion, for all the weight u lose you cannot change ur body type. Everyone is born with a certain look. So what if some girls are stick thin? Do u think they dont get teased for their weight too? People call them anorexic to their faces or sluts in front of their boyfriends and husbands. Can you imagine how L.A. Sherman must feel whenever people compare her to adult film stars in front of her kids and husband. The fact that she does not punch them makes me want to salute her. If anyone said that to them hell i would slap and kick them so hard i would be arrested for assault and battery in two seconds flat.

The overall morale of the story (in my opinion) is the fact is that if we hate something we should change it. It takes time and it takes effort but it always possible. It took time to get rid of segregation in the United States (mostly) but it happened in the end. My character Aradia will one day be a symbol of feminine Independence but as what female Independence should be.
And what I define as female independence is:
*seeing something wrong with the world and trying to change it'
*using diplomacy as much as possible
*having men help her because in the end u always need help to do anything
*to never bite the hand that helps you male or female
*to do more than just fight
*to make mistakes but own up to them
*most of all to accept the fact that life is tough but it is action and determination that will make it change.

Theme song

I know its more a TV show thing but one of the best marketing strategies I think WB ever did when they made the Harry Potter films was creating a song or precisely a tune that would become a trademark for their franchise.
 Harry potter's theme song
i mean seriously whenever u hear that song as a ringtone or anything else you must automatically recognize it as the harry potter thing. Well i dont know if its that way for everybody but it certainly is for me. I think its also what made the movie Halloween so recognizable. No offense to John carpenter i will always prefer the Rob Zombie of the film better but only because he explains more about where Michael Meyer's psychosis came from. Word of warning, it is very gory and deserves every bit of its Rated R labeling.
I have always appreciated music even though i rather poke my own ears out then sing at my church group. I maybe practically tone deaf but still i believe that in the fashion of renditions to songs i think there are two from the 80's who in spite of being electronic songs would be better as rock songs.
Sunglasses at night by the artist Corey Hart i think would be a great rock song without the electronic beats featured in it. I kind of always hoped that maybe by chance another artist would also see this but since we are not mind readers...
Anyhoo, the ultimate goal of a writer (ironically) is to see their book turned into a movie. I do not wish for this to happen until after I graduate from college but being the dreamer that I am i like to plan ahead. Therefore, i have decided that if Tales of Aradia is ever made into a film I want sunglasses at night as a rock rendition to be the franchise's theme.
For a while I thought anyone could sing this song then I remembered a music video and artist I liked.
Fefe Dobson - Ghost - YouTube
I originally thought this song would make a good tv theme but then I realized it would make somewhat sense for me to choose the artist to sing the theme song. This artist may have a bit of electronic in her music but it is clear she considers herself as a rock star. Therefore, why not have her sing it and her version be the theme eh?
Of course, I don't want to do this without Harry's consent. Hopefully, he will be on the same page but keep in mind Tales of Aradia being made into a film is probably going to take more than five years to do. Who knows if Ms. Dobson will even want to do it anyway?
But like I said I like to think ahead.

P.S. in case your wondering yes her name is pronounced as Fee-fee dobson. She is from Canada.

Books being made into movies...

My best friend Kim pointed out to me that books being made into movies are not necessarily a good thing. Plenty of fantasy books have been adapted such as Eragon, Blood and Chocolate, and the Seeker: the Dark is Rising. They were not box office smashes to say the least. Yet Harry Potter (as inaccurate as the films were) was a huge box office check deposited into JK Rowling's bank. The Lord of the Rings movies were huge as well.

I wonder what makes a book adapted into a movie good? my initial belief was if my book gets turned into a movie i will stay out of the project. However, i think the authors stay out of them too much. Maybe if the authors got involved the movies wouldnt suck so much. One of my other friends even pointed out to me "its your book u have a right to make sure its represented right." I think thats the direction Harry and I will go with if Aradia ever gets turned into a film. We will get directly involved in it. We will talk to the casting people, make announcements to the public, and so much more. Its worth a shot after all.

Should have announced this sooner

Unfortunately, my best friend Kim who is my usual cover artist has decided that her schedule has become too hectic. She is still in art school and must finish her degree. My editor (being the coolest guy ever) suggested his own cover artist for the job.
His name is Lam Lu.
Volume four's cover art is an example of his art. Kim has given me her full approval for this move. Hopefully, you will all welcome the newest memeber of the Tales of Aradia the Last Witch family with enthusiasm. God knows I welcome him with his wonderful talent.
Thank u Lam for everything.

Now I know I am getting ahead of myself...

But if my book series could be made into a movie (please God) the person whom I would love to play Beau Dayton would Tom Felton a.k.a Draco Malfoy from Harry Potter. I do not know if this would be acceptable to him after all he just escaped one book role and u know how lethal those things can be. Furthermore, he is a mega star! Why would he bother with my book? But hey a girl can dream can't she?

P.S. in case u don't know this is Tom Felton
 I mean seriously wouldn't a great vampire?
