I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this book. I found the storyline to be a fresh take on the oh so popular paranormals genre. I don't think that I have read another book where the main character is the last of a species and I liked it. I also liked how it wasn't just certain species that were included we meet a variety and others are talked about, so hopefully in future books we learn about other types as well. I found this book to be an easy read because it held my attention and I can't wait to read the other in the series.
I liked all of the charcters. Arcadia was my favourite because she went from knowing nothing about what she is to knowing almost everything and using it to fight evil. I can't wait to see what all of her powers are. I like Roy and Dax about the same maybe in future books one will pull ahead but for now they are tied. Also I really want to find out more about Tristan. I find him to be very mysterious.
Overall, I really liked this book and the characters. Also I found the storyline to be fresh. The book was and easy read that sucked you in. The characters make you like them because of their stories. I would recommend them to any paranormal lovers.

New review!

3.0 out of 5 stars NarlyNut's Book Lovers and Reviews, January 7, 2013

This review is from: Tales of Aradia The Last Witch Volume 1 (Kindle Edition)
Tales Of Aradia
The Last Witch
Volume One
by: L.A. Jones

Synopsis
Unknown to the humans who hanged innocent people at the Salem Witch Trials, Real witches of the hidden race were slaughtered on the belief that they had betrayed the hiddens to the humans. Not one witch survived the genocide, or so it was believed for more than three hundred years. Until one day a girl named Aradia moves to Salem, Massachusetts, and all that changes...

~My Review~
Aradia is found by her adoptive parents Ross and Liza in the wilderness. From the moment they adopted Aradia ,they know something is special. As Aradia grows up she finds that she can do magical things that no one else can do.
Aradia is not your typical teenage girl. Her parents move Aradia to Salem, due to a job transfer for her dad.
She dreads a new school, but soon will find out she is entering a world of vampires and werewolves. Among these worldy creatures, there are many hiddens around Aradia. At first she has no idea; She also has no idea what she is.
Aradia's dad is the DA to whom of which comes in to try and help solve a murder. Aradia has powers to see things that have happened in the past and wants to help her dad solve the murder.
As time goes on Rai (Aradia), makes friends and realizes the school she is now attending has some very peculiar things happening. Her and her new found friend Roy, and her love interest Dax, go through out the story trying to figure out who is responsible for the murders. Along the way Aradia also discovers she is a witch; The last witch!

I have mixed feelings on this book.
There were parts to where it would grab my attention and I would be very entertained. Then I would come to a part to where it would drag on and explain much more than needed be. I would easily get bored and it took me longer than usual to finish this book. Don't get me wrong, I loved the story line L.A. Jones put together. It just didn't hold my attention the way I wanted it too.
There were a few editing issues, but nothing to make a huge stink over.
In my honest opinion, it is one of those books that an individual would have to pick up and see for themselves. There were so many lighthearted and humorous moments. Aradia is a beauty to love. You have my opinion, but I also think you should judge this book for yourself!
I give this book 3 and a half NarlyNut stars

Aradia is the last of her kind. A Witch, all the rest were exterminated. Aradia has no idea what she is and doesnt even know until much later that other paranormal creatures exist. I loved the mix of Vampires, Fae, Werewolves and Humans. I thought the story very complex but well worth the read. The complexity made the story fantastic. The rich detail, the complexity of emotions and questions is amazing. I can not wait to read the next volume.

This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this book, the characters were very well described and the settings also.

The story itself was well written and the overall plot good and quite solid.

Being someone who is really in to magic and the paranormal/fantasy genre etc, I may have expected more but then I remembered that this is a YA book and I realised my mistake.

I liked how the flow of the story brings about the characters and how they all fit in the society that has been created by the author.

I'm looking forward to the next parts of the series to see how the overall story line pans out.
