When I read this book I loved it - despite the obvious editing errors. I downloaded all the books in the series and have read them several times. I am a "visual" reader in that if I can get "into" a story line then I tend to forget everything else around me and entrench myself in the scenes I am reading. This series is written just the way I like. I also love the way Aradia "grew" into her powers and the lasting friendships she forged. All the characters are written well and the series flows successfully.

Tales of Aradia The Last Witch V...

Great Read!, December 20, 2012
By Michelle C. Jordan

This review is from: Tales of Aradia The Last Witch Volume 1 (Kindle Edition)
I received Tales of Aradia(The Last Witch) as a complimentary copy from author for a read2 review. This does not affect my honest review....

Tales of Aradia the Last Witch, tells the story of Rai. Rai is a teen with a good life. It is just her , her mom and dad. They have recently moved to Salem. Rai's biggest concern is that she is different and will be judged different from others, in her very normal seeming life. Why Rai feels different is because she has powers to do unimaginable things;aid in healing, find things with her mind. So this causes her to feel like a freak, so she has attempted to downplay or hide it, just to fit in. Rai's parents cannot enlighten her on why she has these abilities. They found Rai, basically in a cave, while on a trip, after desiring a miracle to have a child. The first experience that Rai's parents had with Rai's abilities was during the first meeting, when Rai aided in healing her dad's slight injuries. This surprised and frighten them a little but they knew that the child needed their help. So they took her in and she became their daughter.

The story, shows the family moving to Salem, where after settling in, Rai for once does not feel completely out of place...although she finds it strange that the schoo'sl population has a clear reflection of two groups; the normal kids and then there was a group that seemed extraordinarily beautiful. This second group, wherever Rai went seemed to take notice of her, be enthralled with her, meaning staring outright at her, but not in the "she was a freak way"...but that Rai fascinated them.

Behind the scene of the story unknown to Rai, there is a force, led by a ruler who knows exactly why the otherworldly population is drawn to Rai. He is also out to have Rai for himself. The reason is that Rai is the last of her kind. A witch, which all those who were witches were supposed to be destroyed many years before. But Rai, had been sent into time as a means of saving her...but those that searched have found her, and so Rai's time is limited. Rai also has another element to her heritage that also increases those Dark Ones desire for her, which leads back to the greatest witch of all...

But Rai and her friend Rory and her new love Dax,(who she discovers are supernatural such as she) have to solve a mystery over who was killing supernaturals, while staying one step ahead of the danger that stalks Rai.

This was a fast paced read, that gripped me from the start. I loved the strong, spirited main character, that who did feel out-of-place, but still showed a self-confidence deep within her. I loved seeing her blossom into fully accepting who she was, her heritage and what she could do. I enjoyed seeing the relationship between herself and the handsome vampire Dax.

This story has everything from adventure, to suspense and I believe if you are into fantasy, and paranormal..or just enjoy a fun read...then this is the one for you!

Urgent!!!!!!

First things first, I know that I have given many of you the impression that edited version of book two was to come out in November but unfortunately we have run into some difficulties.

You see my editor/partner Harrison R. Bradlow who is the genius that helped improve the first book in my series has been dealing with a lot of stress in his life. He just recently got promoted at his regular job and he and his wife are taking care of their first child. As many of you probably know taking care of a baby is a full time job.
Nevertheless, Harrison is very dedicated to the series. So dedicated that there is no way he can release the book unless he is sure the book is perfect. The first book is a very hard thing to live up to hence why he is taking his time. Unfortunately, such genius cannot be rushed. Hence why he has missed the deadlines. But never fear Harry says he is almost half way done with editing. However, we must all give him plenty of time to perfect it. I don't know how long it will take but believe me it will be worth it.

Harrison R Bradlow had this to add: "To all the fans of the Tales of Aradia universe, I extend my sincere apologies for this delay. This is a series which has incredible potential, which is why I am proud to be a part of it. It would be a disservice to Aradia and to you, the reader, to rush volume 2 to print before it is ready. Right now, the diamond is shining. When I'm done, it will be positively blinding. I thank you all, both for your patience, and for accompanying LA and myself on this journey."

I make this announcement out of concern for my fans and readers. Don't worry I will update you with as much info as I can.
Let's wish Harry lots of luck and speed!

New five star review!

This review is from: Tales of Aradia The Last Witch Volume 1 (Kindle Edition)
Aradia always knew she was different. Throughout grade school and middle school, enough events occurred to convince her of it. Unfortunately, those events also convinced everyone else, so much so that they stayed away from her, and she had a very lonely childhood.
A move to a new town, and enrollment in a new school, was something she feels sure will make or break her life. She hopes for acceptance at the least, and real friends at the most. What she gets is nothing like she has been expecting.
The students at her new school seem odd, most of them. Their attention intrigues, then irritates her. She finally makes friends, but then is plunged into a whole new world when she finds out what lies beneath the surface of her town's society.
Helping her dad find a killer, Aradia uses her special powers to help uncover clues, sort of like Nancy Drew with psychic benefits. She finds out her true nature just when she needs it--when the killer comes after her.
LA Jones has written a very captivating book. I was hooked from the very first sentence. Her seemingly natural way of crafting a sentence makes the storyline move along seamlessly. I really liked how she was able to mingle the very real world of teen-age angst and otherworldly strangeness into something very believable. The book is not one that would horrify a reader with its gruesome details; rather it does a good job of holding back that information, allowing the reader to fill in the facts as he or she sees fit. The characters are very real, well-though-out, and can truly be seen in the mind's eye. I am glad the author has another volume out, because I can hardly wait to get my hands on it! I have to see what happens to this young brave girl.
Because, I forgot to mention, there is something darker wanting to get its claws on Aradia...
